Searching for a solar installer in Quezon City is the start of a contractor comparison. The next step is to find out who will assess the property, who is responsible for the electrical design and what the company will do after installation.

A strong proposal should survive specific questions. Use the following checklist for a house, townhouse or owner-occupied building, and adapt it to the actual property rather than relying on the suburb name.

Identify the people behind the offer

Request the legal business name on the contract and invoice, the installation contact and the professional responsible for the electrical work. The Professional Regulation Commission provides an online licence-verification service. [1] Check the relevant professional’s details through the official service instead of relying on a logo in an advertisement.

Ask whether the company uses its own crew or subcontractors and who supervises them. The important purchasing question is accountability: if design, installation and after-sales involve different people, the contract should still give you a clear point of responsibility. Do not send identity documents through an unverified sales account.

Require a roof and electrical assessment

A useful Quezon City site visit should resolve the actual roof structure, shading, access route and equipment positions. Discuss neighbouring buildings, water tanks and future construction where they affect the proposed array. Ask the installer to explain how the layout leaves space for safe servicing.

For an illustrative townhouse with a narrow frontage, getting equipment to the roof may require a different access plan from a detached home. Ask whether access equipment, traffic arrangements or association permissions affect the quote. This is a site-specific question, not a claim that every Quezon City property has the same constraints.

Check who owns each responsibility. Design: Named professional and documented system scope. Installation: Supervision, safe access and commissioning. Support: Written fault-reporting and warranty process.

Confirm the local paperwork route

Quezon City’s Department of the Building Official handles building and ancillary permits and electrical inspection certificates. Its official page provides application guidance. [2] Have the responsible professional identify the current requirements for your scope, including whether the proposal changes existing electrical installations.

Create a responsibility list with the document, applicant, preparer, fee payer and expected dependency. Keep local approvals distinct from utility interconnection. A promise to “handle everything” should still be converted into a written scope that identifies what the owner must supply and what the contractor must complete.

Ask for comparable evidence of workmanship

Request examples relevant to your roof material and proposed system type. Ask what the company can show with the customer’s permission, such as a finished layout, labelled equipment or a handover checklist. Respect customer privacy; a contractor should not need to reveal someone else’s personal bill to explain its process.

A photograph alone does not establish long-term performance. Ask how roof penetrations are managed, how commissioning results are documented and who investigates a later fault. If examples feature another country, treat them as reference work rather than evidence of a completed Quezon City installation.

A practical Quezon City shortlist. Property: Roof condition, shade, access and permissions. Paperwork: Current DBO and utility requirements. Handover: Monitoring, warranties and operating instructions.

Examine after-sales terms before the headline warranty

Separate equipment warranties from workmanship and any roof-related commitments. Ask which party accepts a claim, whether diagnosis and travel are chargeable, and whether replacement labour is included. Request the exclusions and the process for escalating a fault that remains unresolved.

Consider a fictional inverter fault six months after handover. The manufacturer may need test results before authorising replacement. Your useful question is who gathers those results and communicates with the manufacturer. A longer warranty number does not, by itself, explain how quickly your household will receive help.

Make a shortlist you can actually compare

Score each proposal against the same brief: household load, desired backup, roof assumptions, named equipment, approvals, payment milestones and service arrangements. Record unanswered questions rather than replacing them with a guess. A slightly higher quote with a complete scope may be easier to evaluate than a low figure filled with allowances.

For a Lightning Energy Philippines assessment, share the property’s location in Quezon City, recent consumption and your main objective. Confirm the team’s service arrangements for the address before booking. The aim is a documented design and an accountable installation process, with enough information to make your own decision.
